Mission
FairView
is a play therapy and counseling center with the focus of
helping people of all ages work through the issues and
problems of everyday life. These include but are not
limited to: grief, separation/ divorce, violence, trauma,
as well as parent/child and school-related issues.
We believe that healthy children, families, and adults
create a healthy community.
Meet
Our Executive Director
Mary
Gallagher Hartman
Ms. Hartman holds a Bachelors Degree in
Psychology from Alvernia College and a Masters
degree in Healthcare Administration from St. Joseph's
University, Phila., PA. She is also a Certified
Addictions Counselor Diplomate. She joined
FairView Counseling and The Play Therapy Center in January
of 2008. Ms. Hartman's executive skills include Strategic
Planning, Visionary Leadership and Change Management.
She is an accomplished executive with experience in
operations, marketing, systems development and process
improvement. Prior
to joining FairView, Mary spent eight years as the Clinical
Manager of the Inpatient Behavioral Health Units at St.
Joseph's Medical Center. Her background also
includes a tenure as Executive Director of Adult Services
at The Caron Foundation.

Our Therapists
Kathryn
B. Davis, Psy.D
Kayte
is a graduate of Widener University where she received
both her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical
Psychology.
Throughout her academic and professional career,
she has worked intensely with children, adolescents and
adults addressing anxiety, depression, family discord,
social skill development, bullying, and anger and behavior
management.
She has worked in public and private schools,
long-term care facilities, residential treatment
facilities, and medical and psychiatric hospitals.
She uses an eclectic, but client-centered approach
when working with individuals in the context of their
family and academic systems.
Kayte is a member of the Philadelphia
Neuropsychological Society, Pennsylvania Psychological
Association and the American Psychological Association.
Elizabeth
W. Gonzalez, L.P.C., R.P.T.
Beth is the founder of
FairView Counseling. A graduate of Moore College of
Art with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Beth holds a
master's degree in counseling psychology from Immaculata
College. Combining both her creativity and
counseling background, Beth went on to study Play Therapy
at the Family Play Therapy Center, Inc. in Philadelphia.
She has completed over 150 hours of post graduate
instruction and over 2000 hours working with children as
required by the Association for Play Therapy, Inc. to
become a Registered Play Therapist. Beth's primary
approach to working with children is child-centered Play
Therapy in a family context. She believes that every
child and every teen needs to have a voice in order to
build healthy families and healthy communities. Beth
is a member of the Association for Play Therapy, Inc., the
Pennsylvania Psychological Association, the American
Counseling Association, and the International Dyslexia
Association.
Linda
Kennedy Hassel, L.C.S.W
Linda is a graduate of Alvernia
College with a bachelor's degree in psychology and
Marywood University where she received her master's degree
in social work. She has over 20 years of experience
working with individuals, families, and community
organizations. She assisted in establishing Hospice
in Berks County, including the education and training of
hospice volunteers. Linda has completed intensive
research on mothers with HIV. The emphasis of her
clinical work is with children and families living with
life threatening illness, grief counseling, dealing with
emotional loss, domestic violence and women's issues.
She is the creator and a facilitator of Grief's Harbor, a
program dealing with grief and loss for children, teens,
and parents who have lost a child. Linda is a member
of the National Association of Social Workers and the
American Academy of Grief and Bereavement.
Susan
M. O’Hayer, Psy.D.
Sue
is a graduate of Albright College with a bachelor’s
degree in psychology.
Dr. O’Hayer received her master’s and doctoral
degrees in psychology at Widener University.
She is a licensed clinical psychologist and has
fifteen years of clinical experience in a variety of areas
including learning disabilities, psychological testing,
family, adult and child therapy, and couples therapy.
Sue has also gained experience in collaborating
with schools, physicians and other health professionals to
develop and implement comprehensive and coordinated
treatment plans.
Dr. O’Hayer emphasizes psychodynamic
psychotherapy as generating the most complete
understanding of individuals in therapy.
Dr. O’Hayer also employs Cognitive and
inter-relational therapies.
Barbara
Coldren Silverberg, L.C.S.W., R.P.T.-S.
Barbara
received her master's degree in Social Work from Marywood
University in 1998. Barbara is a Licensed Clinical
Social Worker and Registered Play
Therapist and Supervisor. Her major area of interest
is children and the adults they become.
Barbara particularly focuses on the effects of
family, attachment, and trauma across the lifespan.
Her orientation is Humanistic*, believing in the innate
and unique strength of each individual. In
working with clients of all ages Barbara uses skills
learned through extensive training in Gestalt Therapy,
Sand Tray Therapy, EMDR, Play Therapy, Filial Therapy,
and Theraplay.
Barbara is a member of NASW (the National Association
of Social Workers), EMDRIA (Eye Movement
Desensitization and Reprocessing International
Organization), GTIP (the Gestalt Therapy Institute
of Philadelphia), and APT (the Association for
Play Therapy). Barbara's particular areas of
interest are trauma, attachment, abuse, anxiety, and
depression in adults and children.
